There are many ways to learn how to play the guitar as your first instrument.There six strings on a guitar,The top string is always the lowest and is called low E as it have the lowest pitch of any of the other instruments,The second string from the top is A this being the as obviously the second lowest pitch,the third string is called G,The Fourth is B,The fifth is D and finally the bottom string is high E this being the highest pitch on the guitar.No matter what kind of guitar you have the low E is on top and High E is on the bottom so if you are right handed and are playing a left handed guitar you will notice that the E strings will be back to front and you either need to get the strings rearranged or get a completely new guitar.
